Built from the gym floor up.

ZYRA grew from hands-on experience in exercise physiology, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and high-performance sport.

Founded by Zac Stannard, the business brings a practitioner’s perspective to commercial equipment and facility planning—connecting the products with the people and spaces they are intended to support.

Before the equipment, there were the people.

The foundations of ZYRA were laid through Zaccys Fitness and Zac’s work helping people train, rebuild capacity and develop performance.

Working across clinical and sporting environments meant considering more than the exercise itself. Equipment needed to suit the person using it. Training needed to be practical. The environment needed to support the session.

That experience remains central to ZYRA’s approach: start with the people, understand the purpose, then consider what belongs in the space.

From the individual session to the whole environment.

As Zac’s work extended across rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and rugby performance, the focus expanded beyond individual equipment choices.

How does a group move through a session? Where does equipment live between uses? Can the same space support different training demands? Does the layout help the people coaching and training within it?

These questions helped shape ZYRA.

The opportunity was not simply to provide equipment, but to bring practical training experience into the way equipment is selected and environments are planned.

We went to the source.

Developing ZYRA also meant getting closer to the people producing the equipment.

Our journey has included visits to manufacturing facilities in China and direct engagement with commercial fitness-equipment manufacturers.

The focus has been understanding equipment construction, movement, finishes, production capability and available customisation options—not relying on a catalogue image alone.

These relationships inform the questions we ask and the options we explore for each brief. Specifications, finishes and project requirements are then confirmed against the selected products.

Equipment is the starting point.

Today, ZYRA brings together commercial equipment selection, supply and facility-planning support.

Our scope spans racks, strength machines, free weights, cardio, functional equipment, flooring, storage and accessories. We work with individual equipment requirements as well as broader packages developed around a facility brief.

Some clients arrive with a product in mind. Others have a list that needs refining. Others have a space and need help deciding where to begin.

The approach is the same: understand the requirement, consider the options and develop a clear, practical scope.

The equipment is the product. The environment is the solution.

A considered training environment is about how the parts work together.

It is the relationship between the equipment, the layout, the people and the purpose of the space.

That philosophy informs our work whether we are discussing one machine or an entire equipment package. The scale can change. The level of consideration should not.

Founder | Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Zac’s background spans clinical exercise physiology, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and athlete development, including work with UQ Rugby and the Soldier Recovery Centre.

That experience informs his approach to ZYRA: understanding how people train, what practitioners need from equipment and how the surrounding environment can support both.

He brings that perspective into equipment selection, manufacturer discussions and the development of facility briefs.

For projects that include recovery, ZYRA can connect the conversation with ORION Recovery.

The complementary offering brings sauna, cold-plunge and contrast-therapy equipment into consideration alongside the training environment.

Recovery equipment is assessed against the intended use, available space and relevant site-service requirements, with the scope confirmed for each project.
